Just in : Russia against any humanitarian intervention in Cameroon

Russians Ambassador to Cameroon His Excellency Anatoly BASHKIN says there is no need for any humanitarian intervention in Cameroon due to the crisis in the North West and South West regions.

He made the statement on March 4, 2020 at the Ministry of External Relations in Yaounde after an audience granted him by Minister Lejeune MBELLA MBELLA.

“We are against any humanitarian intervention in Cameroon. I am confident that the President of this country, the government of this country and the people of this country can resolve these problems by themselves without any intervention from any foreign country,” Anatoly BASHKIN added.

According to the report aired during the 5pm newscast over the National Station of the Cameroon Radio and Television-CRTV, three topics were on the discussion table.

First the recent happenings in the North West and South West regions, the technical revamping of SONARA and the recent municipal and legislative elections in Cameroon.

While congratulating the government over the management of the Anglophone Crisis in the restive Anglophone regions, Russian Ambassador to Cameroon Anatoly BASHKIN used the opportunity to reiterate to the press that the wisdom of President Paul BIYA and the Cameroonian people will put an end to the crisis in the North West and South West regions.

Another issue raised during the audience was the rehabilitation of affected production units at the National Refining Company Ltd-SONARA. He said the Russian company LUKOIL is committed in providing SONARA the needed technical expertise to come back to its normal days.
