As the year comes to an end, there has been minimal change for the Indomitable Lions. They moved up one spot in Africa following the recent 2025 AFCON qualifiers. In the final FIFA rankings of 2024, Cameroon ranks 7th on the continent, an improvement from its 8th place in October. However, this modest progress was not enough to surpass Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt, who remain at the top of the African standings. Globally, Marc Brys’ team holds steady at 49th place, unchanged from October, reflecting a lack of significant advancement for the Indomitable Lions.

The African podium remains dominated by Morocco, the 2022 World Cup semifinalist in Qatar. The Atlas Lions are first in Africa and 17th in the world. They are followed by Senegal, ranked 33rd globally, while Egypt holds 3rd place in Africa and 37th in the world.

The tensions Between Minsep, Fecafoot, and Marc Brys seems to affect their performance

The Indomitable Lions‘ last two matches have once again been influenced by the ongoing tensions between the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), the Ministry of Physical Education, and it’s coach Marc Brys. This hostile atmosphere has undoubtedly affected the performances of Vincent Aboubakar and his teammates. The charade that occurred during the return match against Kenya is still fresh in memory, where the Lions left Yaoundé for South Africa. Under these conditions, the players were unable to hold their usual training session or conduct the pitch reconnaissance, due to the disagreement between Marc Brys and Fecafoot.

Here is the top 20 of the African FIFA rankings for November :
