After leaving Yaoundé yesterday afternoon, Simplis Soh and his team are now on Ivorian soil, ready to face the Wild Beasts of CAR. This match marks the first one in the final phase of the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifiers. With CAR as the host nation for this round, they have chosen Côte d’Ivoire as the venue to host Cameroon. The Indomitable Lions will face CAR as their only opponent in this double confrontation stage. This Sunday match in Abidjan, Simplis Soh is aiming for a victory to secure a solid position ahead of the return leg in Kouekong on December 24, 2024. The Kickoff is scheduled for 8 PM.

After a series of training camps marked by encouraging assessments, the Cameroonian team appears ready to deliver a strong performance in the first leg. However, concerns emerged following their departure yesterday, particularly as Lions coach Simplis Soh is yet to reveal the final squad selected from the three training camps held in Yaoundé. This lack of transparency has fueled ongoing controversies surrounding the Cameroonian Football Federation.

As a reminder, after this match in Côte d’Ivoire, the A’ Lions will host the Wild Beasts on December 24 at the Kouekong Omnisports Stadium in Bafoussam at 5 PM. The outcome of these two matches will determine the team that qualifies to join Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in the 2025 tournament.
