Two suspects of human bones trafficking neutralised in Douala by the gendarmerie

They were expecting the sum of 5 million FCFA but to their surprise, they were handcuffed instead. Two suspected human bones traffickers, all based in Douala, were caught red-handed in a carefully prepared ambush by members of the Douala 2 Gendarmerie Company, according to Equinoxe tv.

In Douala, two individuals suspected of human bones trafficking were recently apprehended by the Gendarmerie. Equinoxe télévision reported the news on Monday 13 January 2025 during the (8pm), the main news programme. In footages viewed by our editorial team, human bones, carefully wrapped beforehand for sale, can be seen being removed out of a bag by the two suspects. The presumed perpetrators of this odious act are now under custy at the Douala II Research Brigade.

According to information from our source, these alleged human bone traffickers were apprehended following a well-orchestrated ambush by members of the gendarmerie. They were found in possession of the illicit merchandise, which they were preparing to sell for several million CFA francs.

According to Chief Warrant Officer Major Jean-Eric TIEFANG, Commander of the Douala II Research Brigade, “There are two suspects, NGI SENYUI Pratt Tinjong alias Zino and KOUNDEH Kevis aged 29 and 33 respectively, who reside in Douala. They are not only involved in the desecration of graves, but also in the trafficking and sale of human bones. The human bones they were traced back to the village of Messager in the BUI department, North-West region. Upon arriving here in Douala, they decided to hide their “merchandise” in a forest in Tiko.

Given the persistence of this phenomenon of trafficking in human bones, the police are reassuring the population that they will be stepping up their efforts to put an end to it. As for these alleged criminals, they will answer for their actions before the competent courts.
