Pr Fuh Calistus is inaugurating a new local cocoa processing industry in Okoa Maria, in the district of Mbankomo, Mefou-et-Akono department, Centre region. On 15 January, the member of the government cut the ribbon at this factory owned by Lisette Claudia Tame. The ceremony was attended by a wide range of personalities and local residents. Dieudonné Mveng’s newspaper, InfoMatin, reports on the ceremony.

The headline in Le Messager reads: “Security crises in Cameroon: Joshua Osih, the right man for the job“. Alexis Kamewe, President of the Social Democratic Front in Europe, discusses Joshua Osih’s proposals in relation to the Boko Haram insurrection in the Far North, the crisis in the North West and South West regions, and internal tensions linked to bad governance and corruption.

The national army on the front line of the Kumba-Ekondo Titi roadworks. Despite the security and logistical challenges, the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) is stepping up work on the Kumba-Ekondo Titi road. “With the laying of the wearing course in the locality of Mbonge, this 60 km project included in the three-year Emergency Plan is progressing, promising to transform this road into a real engine of development for the South-West region”, reads the newspaper Le Drapeau on newsstands.

In its new role, the Fonds de développement des filières cacao et café (Fodecc) will play an important role, especially at a time when the price of a kilogram of cocoa in the production basins is rising. This morning’s edition of L’Economie explains the changes brought about by the reorganisation of the Fodecc.

Water injection operations for the Paepys project have begun. Yesterday, the Minister for Water and Energy visited various sites in Yaoundé to assess the work in progress, in the presence of Camwater’s Managing Director. In his message to the nation on 31 December, the President of the Action Party, Ibrahim Yiché, announced the launch, in the next few days, of the “I am committed to generational change” platform. Under the leadership of Minfopra, Joseph Lé, General Secretaries, Human Resources Directors and General Affairs Directors are taking part, from 16 to 17 January in Kribi, the capital of the Ocean department in the South region, a well-attended awareness-raising and immersion seminar on the use of the new “Aigles” application, the success of which already seems to be a foregone conclusion.
