Alongside hosts Angola and Senegal, Cameroon has officially been added to the list of qualified countries to partake in the 2025 Africa Men’s Basketball Championship. The Lions of the orange ball secured their ticket with an impressive 82-65 victory over Gabon in Rabat, Morocco during the third qualifying round. Before playing their final games against Rwanda and Senegal in the next few days, Cameroon is sure of being in Angola in August 2025. Unsurprisingly, the Cameroon team dominated the Gabonese panthers throughout the match.
Jeremiah Hill, coach Aboya’s all-rounder, once again made his mark with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Cameroon is now sitting on the top of Group C, with 7 points ahead of Senegal, and with it the group’s first ticket to Afrobasket 2025. After earning their place in the next stage of the qualifiers in Sénégal in 2024, the Lions of Basketball have confirmed their presence in Angola for their final tournament in August 2025.
