The information was made public in a release from the National Agency for Standards and Quality (ANOR) that verified Booster Whisky Cola meets Cameroonian safety requirements, following an inquiry by the National Consumer Network of Cameroon (RNC) regarding its suitability for consumption.
The matter was forwarded to the Ministry of Commerce, which directed ANOR to check the conformity of the product to national health and safety standards. A thorough analysis by the Cameroonian Agro-Food Technical Center concluded that the drink is safe for human consumption.
The Ministry of Commerce has now officially declared Booster Whisky Cola fit for the market, reassuring consumers that the beverage complies with all the safety standards as needed. Given the reality that the beverage has been sold in Cameroon for decades, failure to comply would have landed the company responsible for its production and distribution very stiff sanctions.
This authorization puts to rest growing fears over the safety of the product and highlights the importance of regulatory bodies in ensuring consumer safety in Cameroon.
