Cameroon launches it’s online National ID card pre-registration today, February 17

The new online system for National Identity Card pre-registration ( 𝐢𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐦.𝐜𝐦)in Cameroon is now available. Starting today Monday 17 February 2025, this system will allow citizens to fill in an electronic form, provide the necessary information and also schedule an appointment for biometric data capture. Processing fees can also be paid online.

According to the DGSN, Martin Mbarga Nguelé, physical registration will commence on 24th February 2025 at the various dentification posts in all regional capitals. Identity cards will be issued within 48 hours.

According to insiders, the current NIC receipts will remain valid until the new cards are issued. However, receipt holders will have to re-register via the new system in order to obtain their definitive NIC. The cost of the NCI is 10,000 FCFA, but additional expenses such as tax stamp, the certificate of nationality and the certified copy of the birth certificate, may slightly increase the total cost.
