In today’s edition of Le Soir, the paper reports on Mount Cameroon ascension, as Buea celebrates hope and peace with President Biya. From 19 to 22 February 2025, the city was alive with the 30th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope. There was a massive turnout as people gathered on the streets and at Molyko stadium to celebrate hope and peace in unity with President Paul Biya. The Minister of Sport and Physical Education, Pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, representing the Head of State, conveyed his message of peace and hope to the people of Buea. This legendary competition, considered to be one of the most toughest mountain races in Africa, once again brought together athletes from different horizons to attempt to challenge the steep slopes of the Chariot of the Gods, culminating at an altitude of more than 4,000 metres.
