The former coach of the Indomitable Lions, Rigobert will not be alone in this adventure. According to our correspondent, he will be assisted by Eloge Yamissi Enza, Sébastien Ngato and Eric Cabaler, all appointed by ministerial decree.
We equally have, La Voix des Entreprises immersed in the labour market, informing us that women’s employability is still lagging behind. In a recent report published by the Institut National de la Statistique (INS), the reports that gender disparities in the Cameroonian labour market remain persistent. In view of this finding, the report proposed recommendations aimed at improving women’s employability and reducing income disparities.

According to it, despite a more pronounced entrepreneurial spirit, over 68% of Cameroonian women work in the informal sector, often in low-skilled jobs. The document published by the INS “highlights the persistent inequalities between men and women in the labour market, accentuated by disparities in vocational training, and calls for urgent reforms to ensure greater inclusion of women in the formal economy”.

On its front page, the paper declares that Professor Owona Nguini’s analysis are destabilising the anti-Biya faction. At each of his appearances, it says, “the brilliant political scientist demonstrates, with scientific arguments to back it up, that there is no legal provision preventing Paul Biya, who is free to stand for re-election or not. As a result, individuals whose only arguments are hatred, jealousy and insult, lashed out on him as if under a trance induced by holy water. A similar uproar occurred when the imperturbable academic maintained that the criticisms of certain bishops were part of a plot aimed at inciting insurrection. And he advocated that the ballot box should decide, emphasizing that democracy alone should triumph“, the newspaper reports.
The municipality has taken an important step by reaching its first billion CFA francs, with a budget of 1.096 billion for the 2025 financial year, an increase of 37% on the 2024 budget. The newspaper Investigation Monde, which reported on the project this morning, said that this increase was the direct result of the dynamism of the Mayor, Gisèle Tsangue, who has succeeded in increasing the resources transferred and strengthening national and international cooperation.
Cameroon and Saudi Arabia agree to organise the Hajj 2025. An agreement was signed between the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, who is also Chairman of the National Hajj Commission, and the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfik Ben Fawzan Al-Rabiah. With this headline, the newspaper reports that at the end of their 48th annual seminar, the country’s bishops issued a message denouncing the “distressing and scandalous” poverty of the masses and social inequalities. “The prelates also deplore the corruption that is becoming commonplace, the continuing secessionist crisis, criminality, the sell-off of land and hate speech. They urge the people to have confidence and not to succumb to fear”, it reads.
In its focus this morning, the state-owned daily Cameroon Tribune notes that as the excitement surrounding this year’s presidential election continues to build, some political and civil society players are making statements aimed at creating an “overheated” and “poisonous” pre-election climate. Mobilising people to register to vote, preparing for the elections within the parties, and combating hate speech are all challenges that should be a priority for everyone in the months leading up to the election, the report states.
