The CPDM celebrated its 40th anniversary yesterday, and Cameroon Tribune headlined: A pre-match atmosphere. Across the country, militants of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) mobilized yesterday to reaffirm their commitment to the party and rally behind the national president, Paul Biya, calling on him to run in the presidential election scheduled for this year. Since it was a national celebration, thousands witnessed CPDM @40 in Misaje, with supporters reiterating their call for Biya to seek re-election and pledging a 100% victory. According to The Guardian Post, thousands of supporters and sympathizers of the ruling CPDM in Donga Mantung IV Section thronged the Misaje grandstand yesterday to celebrate the party’s ruby jubilee. The massive event, held in the town of Misaje, drew CPDM supporters from across the subdivision. No fewer than 15,000 party supporters from various subsections in Misaje filled the streets, celebrating jubilantly. They sang and danced through the streets of Misaje. The event went beyond mere celebrations, as it provided an opportunity for the peace-loving people of Misaje to once again publicly reaffirm their unwavering support for President Paul Biya and the institutions he represents.

The National Post was not left out, with the headline: 40 mixed bags of fortunes. Supporters and sympathizers of the ruling CPDM celebrated the party’s 40th anniversary on March 24, calling on National Chairman Paul Biya to seek re-election in the upcoming poll. However, while the party celebrates four decades of dominance in a glamorous fashion, its legacy remains one that sparks debate and leaves many with more questions than answers. Read pages 4 to 6

Still in the spirit of celebration, Le Point focused on the 40 years of television, marking the week-long 40th-anniversary celebrations of CRTV with the headline: 40 Years of CRTV – Flops and Performance – Audiovisual Competitiveness – Attractiveness. From March 17 to 25, CRTV took center stage with grand festivities celebrating its four decades in the national media landscape. Le Monde Professionnel focused in its edition today on education and youth employability, reflecting on how to reduce the unemployment rate among young graduates. Elections at the AfDB: Dr. Samuel Munzele Maimbo Seeks Cameroon’s Support, reports Le Jour. The Zambian financial expert, who is running in the 2025 election for the presidency of the African Development Bank (AfDB), presented his action plan to the local press on March 21 in Yaoundé. On health matters, Échos Santé informs us that 27,151 tuberculosis cases were diagnosed in 2024. According to figures from the National Tuberculosis Control Program, the number of tuberculosis cases increased by nearly 1,500, rising from 25,000 to 27,151 cases diagnosed in 2024. This trend is particularly concerning among children and detainees, where cases have increased by 455 and 200, respectively, compared to 2023. Despite progress, Cameroon still faces significant challenges in the fight against tuberculosis. On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day, observed on March 24, 2025, the theme is: Yes! We can end tuberculosis: Commit, Invest, and Act Concretely. Pages 6 to 7 for more information.

We conclude with My Hospital, which headlines: Bonassama District Hospital: Free consultations launched. The doors of this healthcare facility were opened to the public on Monday, March 24, 2025. All reception areas were filled, surprising the Regional Delegate of Public Health for the Littoral region. The Mayor of Douala IV also announced that he would be consulting patients in his capacity as a urologist. “Health is a precious asset,” said Dr. Alphonse Bayiha, orthopedic surgeon and Director of Bonassama District Hospital. He also announced the upcoming General Assembly to evaluate the hospital’s 2024 performance and outline prospects for 2025.
