The decree’s first article clearly states: “This decree, passed by the National Assembly Bureau, names the new headquarters of the National Assembly ‘Palais des Verres Paul Biya’ in Yaoundé.”

This act reflects Cavaye Yeguié Djibril’s unwavering loyalty to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya and by renaming the edifice, Cavaye Yeguié, who has served as President of the Assembly for 33 years, reaffirms his allegiance to his political leader. For context, the new building was inaugurated on November 30, 2024, by Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, acting as the personal representative of the President of the Republic. The event, which was widely attended, saw the participation of political, religious, and civil society figures.
