Cavaye Yeguié Djibril renames National Assembly building after Paul Biya

In a decree signed on January 8, 2025, the President of the National Assembly of Cameroon officially named the newly inaugurated headquarters of the National Assembly “Palais des Verres Paul Biya.” The building was opened on November 30, 2024.

From now on, the new Palais des Verres in Ngoa-Ekelle, which serves as the seat of the National Assembly, will be known as “Palais des Verres Paul Biya of Yaoundé.” This is the main point of a decree signed by the Honorable Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, President of the lower house of Parliament, on January 8, 2025. The decree’s first article clearly states: “This decree, passed by the National Assembly Bureau, names the new headquarters of the National AssemblyPalais des Verres Paul Biya’ in Yaoundé.”

Cavaye Yeguié Djibril’s Loyalty to Paul Biya

This act reflects Cavaye Yeguié Djibril’s unwavering loyalty to the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya and by renaming the edifice, Cavaye Yeguié, who has served as President of the Assembly for 33 years, reaffirms his allegiance to his political leader. For context, the new building was inaugurated on November 30, 2024, by Cavaye Yeguié Djibril, acting as the personal representative of the President of the Republic. The event, which was widely attended, saw the participation of political, religious, and civil society figures.
