On the eve of international women’s Day, a shocking discovery was made in the Ngousso neighbourhood where the lifeless body of a woman was retrieved from a septic tank. According to reports, circumstances surrounding her fall into the tank is unclear but an investigation has already been launched to determine whether the victim’s death resulted from an accidental fall or foul play.
Though authorities have assured they’ll follow up the case, residents of the area have expressed concerns about their security and have called on the police to implement certain measures that will prevent such from repeating itself.
This tragic event has reignited discussions about the need to strengthen security measures in major cities, particularly in high-risk neighborhoods of Douala and Yaounde, where incidents of this nature are alarmingly frequent. However, since the real cause is yet to be determined it is important for people to be vigilant and very watchful.
