The dispute between Valentine Nkwain and his goalkeeper Eric Parfait Djomeni has taken a new twist, with a document circulating online revealing that Djomeni has lodged a complaint against the chairman for arrest, confinement and torture. This marks another development in the case between Victoria United and its keeper on 25 February 2025. According to several sources, the goalkeeper is accused of “selling matches” allegedly contributing to the club’s fall to MTN Elite One this season. Reports alleged he was held hostage in order to confess to the charges.

The club, crowned champions of Cameroon in 2024, rejected such allegations in a press release issued on 25 February.

The complaint against Valentine is further proof that something is amiss between goalkeeper Eric Parfait Djomeni and his club. Since this morning, information has widely circulating online. In a video published this morning, the player’s mother testified that her son had indeed been kidnapped and tortured by the club.

However in another video, Victoria denies such accusations. The goalkeeper himself is present in it confirming that he is doing well, further stating team is going on with it’s training peacefully. Despite this, the complaint lodged against the club sweeps aside any doubt. With the case now in the hands of the legal system, it is hoped that investigation will clarify the unfolding developments.
