FECAFOOT and Cameroon Customs join forces to combat counterfeiting

A partnership agreement aimed at stopping counterfeiting of Fourteen kit products was signed on Wednesday morning in Yaoundé between the leaders of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) and the General Directorate of Customs (DGD).

A three-year partnership was officially signed between Mr. Samuel Eto’o, President of FECAFOOT, and Mr. Fongod Edwin Nuvaga, Director General of Cameroon Customs. This collaboration underscores a strong commitment to fighting counterfeit products, particularly those related to FECAFOOT, including sports equipment supplied by FOURTEEN, the new official kit provider for Cameroon’s national football teams.

During the signing ceremony held at the DGD headquarters, the Director General of Customs announced the implementation of stringent control measures at the country’s entry points and loading areas to curb the trafficking of counterfeit goods. To support these efforts, FECAFOOT and its partner, FOURTEEN, will organize specialized training sessions for customs officers to help them distinguish between authentic and counterfeit products. Additionally, the Customs Administration has pledged to streamline customs procedures for FECAFOOT’s official products and materials, ensuring smoother clearance processes for legitimate goods.
