In the Efoulan neighbourhood, a 42-year-old woman was murdered in cold blood. Mougnou Mazou, aged 32, Takoupen Hiliassou, aged 37, and Njoya Monthé, aged 40, have been identified as the alleged killers of Bella Ngoumou Marthe Marie. The crime was committed on the night of 02 to 03 February when the three individuals paid her a visit but she didn’t suspect anything until the worst happened. According to captain Jules Roger Etetah, Yaoundé 2 Gendarmerie Company Commander: “The perpetrator of the act was the deceased spiritual guide. She trusted him, reasons why she allowed him and his accomplices in her home. They hit her with an iron before proceeding to strangle her. Luckily enough, they didn’t go far after committing the crime as they were caught 3 days later thanks to the sharp investigative skills of the Efoulan Research Brigade in the Yaoundé 3 district. The first two suspects were arrested at Ange Raphael in possession of the victim’s phone. Their arrest then led to the capture of the masterminder.”
The arrest of the suspects has brought some closure to the grieving family despite their pain. “My little sister will not come back, but as a family, we feel that the pain is somewhat eased.”
The three suspects, presented to the press on February 12, will be referred to the Public Prosecutor to answer for their crime.
