The Cameroon Football Federation risks being suspended from all football-related activities on 28 February 2025 due to failure to comply with FIFA’s directives. The ultimatum as reported by Lebledparle Sport, has instructed the Fecafoot to pay the Portuguese coach Toni Conceçãio compensation for his untimely dismissal. The sum to be paid amounts to over one billion FCFA. Failure to do so, potential severe consequences awaits the governing body of Cameroon football according the release.
FIFA also indicated in its press release that it had withheld 20% of the development funds allocated to FECAFOOT because of this dispute, and that further sanctions could be applied if the matter was not resolved as soon as possible. The Cameroon Football Federation has an obligation to settle this dispute before the next qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup, otherwise the Indomitable Lions will be barred from participating in the matches next March.
