Joseph Ndoko and his team still have a long way to go to Morocco this year. After their brilliant second-round qualification against Egypt (6-0 on aggregate), Cameroon’s U-17s will face Ethiopia in a double confrontation in March. This will be on 7 March in Cameroon and a week later being the 14th March in Ethiopia. The Lionesses may have beaten Egypt’s Pharaohs with ease, but the task ahead seems to be a complex one, as Ethiopia are no pushovers.
Although Ethiopia won against Zimbabwe on a free-kick following the withdrawal of the Women’s U-17 Warriors, they are still a challenging opponent in this tournament. Joseph Ndoko and his girls are aiming for a third qualification for the World Cup finals. To do so, they need to be among the four nations to qualify after the three rounds out of the 28 competing nations. Coach Ndoko certainly has the keys to success, but his squad still needs to be well drilled for the rest of these qualifiers, which will end in May 2025.
