FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup : Lionesses dominates Egypt

The Lionesses U17 dominated Pharaohs with a 5-0 victory in the first leg of the of the opening qualifying round for the 2025 World cup.

Thanks to a hat-trick from Tazanou, as well as goals from Divine Nkoussa and Tiwa Lys, the Lionesses U17 dominated their Egyptian opponents by with a commanding 5 – 0 victory. The Cameroonians won without difficulty at the Cairo Stadium in Egypt on Sunday in a match that was part of the first leg of the opening round of qualifiers for the Morocco 2025 World Cup. It was a fine start to the tournament for Cameroon, who are keen to make their presence felt in Morocco next October after their last appearance in the competition in 2018.

The baby Lionesses are off to a remarkable start, securing an early lead against Egypt which gives a psychological advantage for Joseph Ndoko’s team, as they prepare to host Egypt in Cameroon in a few days. The Lionesses are keen to get back on track for the World Cup, especially as the competition is being staged on African soil. Morocco, the host of the 2030 Men’s World Cup, will also be the venue for Women’s U-17 World Cup scheduled to take place from 17 October to 8 November 2025. The Lions are determined to be among the 24 countries that will be in the Kingdom of Morocco.
