Fire ravages a part of Ndogpassi market in Douala

The Ndogpassi market was caught up in flames today morning, leaving traders in distress as 30 shops were lost. The cause of the fire was not stated but thankfully no loss of human live was registered.

What was meant to be a profitable market day for some traders in Douala turned into a devastating one as a fire broke out at the Ndogpassi market on Tuesday morning. An incident that left several shopkeepers in shock as they watched their shops go up in flames. According to an eyewitness recounting the scene to CRTV, the fire erupted in the early hours of the morning around 7:30 am, spreading rapidly through the market before the fire fighting brigade arrived. Thanks to their swift intervention, the blaze was contained, preventing further damage. However, over 30 shops were completely gutted by the flames.

As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. Authorities and affected traders await further details from the fire brigade, which has been investigating the scene to determine the origin of the disaster.
