Professor Pauline Nalova Lyonga’s “clean school” campaign is been fully implemented, this time around with her showing up unannounced in some secondary school establishment. This was the case of five different schools in Yaounde who were paid a surprise visit by the Minister accompanied by the governor of the Center region Naseri Paul Bea on 21st January, and due to non-respect of regulations and violation of standard requirements for secondary schools in Cameroon, Professor Nalova ordered their temporary closure.
According to informations some of these schools are receiving their sanction after ignoring the minesec seal issued to them between 1st-3rd October 2024, by opening the school structure without authorisation.
While carrying out the operation, the Minister stressed the need for all educational institutions to adhere to government regulations to maintain the quality of education. It is important to note that at the beginning of the academic year, Professor Nalova Lyonga closed down 172 private secondary schools in Cameroon for operating without the necessary authorisation.
This campaign of the minister stems from her desire to eliminate unauthorised school structures in other to standardise the education system and improve overall educational quality.
