This development brings relief to Cameroonians as it significantly simplifies the process of obtaining identity documents. With this center now operational, long queues and extended waiting times will be a thing of the past. Located in Bonanjo within the premises of the Mobile Intervention Group (GMI), the facility is designed to streamline document production and reduce processing delays. It also integrates advanced biometric security features to prevent document forgery.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by General Mbarga Nguelé, Secretary-General of National Security, the Governor of the Littoral Region, and other high-ranking officials. According to Ngoh Ngoh, this infrastructure is part of a broader initiative to modernize public services, alleviate congestion in other prefectures, and enhance user experience. He also announced plans to build similar centers in Yaounde and Garoua in the near future. Eventually, all ten regional capitals and other major cities will host these modern identification document centers, reflecting the Head of State’s commitment to administrative development and modernization.
The facility is equipped with 120 workstations and can accommodate at least 1,000 users daily. With this advancement, long waiting times and tedious queues will become a thing of the past.
