Aussie swimmers bags more Paralympics gold, make history in breaking two world records.

William Martin, a 20-year-old swimmer with impairments due to a stroke that he suffered in 2007, secured the 100m butterfly S9 pool. As a result, he made it as his third gold of the Paralympics. He also broke his world record in the heats and nearly finished as a second faster in the finals, reaching the wall in 57.19.

Benjamin Hance, a 21-year-old Paralympian swimmer, competing for Australia for the first time, led the 100m backstrokes S14 pool, eventually bags gold, and sets a new Paralympic record of 57.73. Altogether, the gold was an addition to the bronze he has secured in 100m butterfly S14 in addition to the silver from the mixed 4x100m freestyle S14 during Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Moreover, another Aussie Paralympian Swimmer with mild cerebral palsy, Rachel Watson, won back-to-back gold medals in Women’s 50m Freestyle S4 coming from lane two. Watson completed a Paralympic record of 39.36, approximately four seconds quicker than her record in the heats.
