The 30th edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope launched by minister of sport pr Narcisse Mouelle Kombi proved to be a thrilling showcase of endurance and determination. This year’s male champions were at their finest demonstrating their strength and perseverance, stamping their names in the history of the legendary competition.
Usheni Hassan wins senior men’s category
Usheni Hassan, from Kumbo in the Northwest Region, emerged victorious in the Senior Men’s category. Finishing the race in an impressive 4 hrs and 40 minutes, Hassan’s performance was an exceptional one.
Sale Saibou secured the junior male category
Eighteen-year-old Sale Saibou won the Junior Male category. Hailing from Nwa in Donga Matung Division of the Northwest Region, Saibou’s determination finally paid off in his fourth attempt at the race. This year marked his first time securing 1st place, a testament that one shouldn’t give up.
Veteran’s veteran category
At 83 years old, Papa Tanague continues to defy expectations. As the sole competitor in the Veteran’s Veteran category, he claimed yet another gold medal—his 22nd in the competition. His participation and victory serve as an inspiration to athletes of all ages, proving that passion and determination know no bounds.
The 30th Mount Cameroon Race of Hope ended in a joyful and peaceful atmosphere and was well enjoyed by both participants and spectators. Eyes are now fixed on the next year’s edition
