March is dedicated to celebrating women across various fields who are making an impact and creating value for the female gender. These remarkable women have cemented their names in history, serving as a source of inspiration for others and changing the narratives. International Women’s Day, observed on March 8, is a significant moment to honor these trailblazers and amazons who have worked tirelessly to foster gender inclusivity in a male-dominated world, proving that a woman’s worth extends far beyond domestic and culinary roles.
Since the 1970s, International Women’s Day has been marked globally with various activities to celebrate the beauties. In Cameroon, the 40th edition has officially commenced, with the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Prof. Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoua, leading a sports walk in Yaoundé on Saturday. Thousands of women responded to the call, demonstrating unity and commitment to this year’s theme: “For all Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
To further celebrate women’s contributions and accelerate action, a special column will be dedicated each day for the rest of the month to spotlight high value women, who are not just mothers but as experts in media, entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, and various leadership roles. Stay tuned daily to read about their journeys, sacrifices, and successes, and draw inspiration from their resilience and achievements.
