Lebledparle Sport learned that the match between PWD of Bamenda and Fauve Azur was unable to reach it’s conclusion after the gunshots where heard near the stadium scattering not only just the spectators, but also the players and the match officials. This disruption forced the game to end. The stadium in Cameroon’s North-West region was in a state of chaos on Sunday 09 February 2025, as people ran for safety. During this highly awaited duel, gunshots interrupted the game. So far, the source of the gunfire remains unknown. It should be noted that this part of Cameroon has been plagued by an ongoing crisis since 2016, with separatists sowing terror in the region, plunging the population into fear. It was in this concerned atmosphere that the match was held at the Yong Francis Arena and the gunshots was a reminder of the socio-political in the English-speaking part of the country.
