Meyo, a locality located between Ebolowa and Abam, has been gripped by tension following the murder of a young man near a local bar. This tragic event, occurring few weeks after a similar crime was committed, ignited public outrage, leading to violent demonstrations by the residents.

According to reports from Mimi Mefo Info, the 30 years old man was seen in the night of Wednesday, February 19 with a friend, but his drunken state made him stay in the bar where he met his death, as he was discovered this morning lifeless. Frustrated by the lack of insecurity because the same spot the man died is reportedly the same place where the first crime was committed, the angry residents took to the streets in protest. The demonstrations rapidly escalated, with the mob targeting businesses and shops owned by strangers living in the area for destruction, as they were accused by the population of being responsible for the growing insecurity.

In a surprising turn of events, an individual suspected of involvement in the killing was reportedly lynched by an furious crowd. Additionally, the owner of the bar where the victim was last seen is reportedly on the run, as he has not been found since the incident.
