Gunshots erupted on the outskirts of the stadium causing a frenzy and interrupting the match. In response, the home team (PWD) has promised to comment on this unfortunate incident.
In an official statement, PWD of Bamenda clarified the facts : “The match began without incident and at the half time break, both teams were logged at a goal each. As the players walked off the pitch, gunshots suddenly erupted provoking a pandemonium and disrupting the resumption of play.” stated the club in its press release. It equally thanked the collaboration of the host team with the forces of law and order and security personnel, resulting in more fear than harm.
