On Tuesday, the Douala Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) carried out a large-scale operation in the Bonadibong neighbourhood, specifically at the Bayangui Quarter, Petit Stade, in the Douala 1 district. According to information reported by Equinoxe tv, a major drug trafficking network was dismantled in this part of Cameroon’s economic hub, leading to the arrest of more than twenty young men and women during the manhunt.
The suspects, most of whom were consumers and dealers of these illegal substances, were caught red-handed in this new drug market. These young people, mostly from neighbouring areas such as Makéa and New-Bell, have chosen this area as their main point of sale and consumption of this substance.
In response to the several complaints from local residents, the local authorities reacted swiftly to the resurgence of this phenomenon. An operation was ordered under the supervision Samuel Dieudonnée Ivaha Diboua, governor of the Littoral région and coordination of Commissaire divisionnaire Hervé-Marie Ondoa. It took the Anti-Crime Brigade 45 minutes to seize variety of drugs drugs, including narcotics popularly consumed within the area.
