Rigobert Song has chosen to take some time to reflect over things before formalising his contract as coach of the Fauves du Bas-Oubangui. Appointed coach of the Fauves on Monday, his contract was due to be formalised on 15 January 2025 between the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Civic Education and the Central African Football Federation. According to l’Attaquant.com, Rigobert Song wants to carefully assess the relations between the Ministry of Sport and the Central African Football Federation before making his decision.

The FCF is challenging the appointment of the former Indomitable Lions coach as head coach of the CAR national team. The Federation believes that it was neither consulted nor involved in this operation. Reports suggest Song is hesitant to proceed under such circumstances. Additionally, a source reveals, the Central African Football Federation would prefer a national at the helm of their senior team. The new date for the contract finalisation has not been announced.
