The town of Edéa, in the Sanaga Maritime region, has just experienced a gloomy evening. A serious traffic accident occurred at the toll booth, leaving two people dead, according to Equinoxe TV. The accident involved a motorbike carrying four pupils, probably from the Lycée d’Ekité, while two of the pupils died on the spot, the other were seriously injured and have been taken to a local hospital, a source close to Equinoxe revealed.
According to witnesses, the motorbike carrying the pupils ended up under the lorry while trying to avoid a care but fortunately, the passengers were faced with another fatal obstacle. It was a shocking scene for the parents of the victims, who had seen their children off to school in the morning. Government’s effort to raise awareness about road dangers are progressing slowly. This road notorious for its numerous accidents, claimed the lives of two shopkeepers last year August under same circumstances.
