It was a historic and joyous moment as members of Cameron’s largest indigenous church cheered their officially installed leader Rt Rev Miki Hans Abia. In a symbolic moment, Rev Miki was handed over the pectoral cross from his predecessor, signifying the transfer of authority as he assumes his role as new head of the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon (PCC).
Rt Rev Miki Hans Abia’s election as new leader of the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon follows the departure of Rev Fonki Samuel Forba who held the leadership title for 10 years from 2014 to November 2024 when he stepped down. Rev Fonki officially ushered the Church into a different chapter by passing down authority to Rev Hans during the induction ceremony this Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Buea.
Before assuming this position, Rev Hans garnered extensive experience serving in various capacities within the church. Prior to this election, Rev Hans held the roles of moderator and Synod clerk of PCC, demonstrating his commitment to the churc’s mission. Born on November 13, 1960, Rev Hans hails form Momo division of the North West region and started his ministerial journey in 1993 when he accepted to answer the call to serve. He holds a Masters degree in Theology with specialty in systematic theology and is equally a devoted husband and father to four children.
As a new era of leadership reigns over the Presbyterian Church of Cameroon, it is expected of Rev Hans to lead the judiciously with wisdom, ensuring spiritual and administrative growth.
