The altercation, which occurred during a game of chance known as Jambo, snowballed very quickly when one student demanded cash from another. The assailant, who was armed with scissors, lost his temper when the victim refused to comply and witnesses say a heated debate ensued, followed by a fight that ended in bloodshed.

The victim allegedly suffered a severe head injury prior to falling and despite passersby rushing to his aid, as well as to arrest the suspect, he managed to escape before the police could reach the scene. Police officers have since launched a manhunt to capture the suspect.

In the meantime, the injured student has been admitted and receiving immediate medical attention. Authorities are calling on anyone with information regarding the location of the suspect to report as investigations continue.

Violent altercations over such amount as such are not unheard off, two years ago a man stabbed another because of his refusal to give him 100 francs and unfortunately the victim didn’t survive.
