Tragic turn in the death of Camwater’s DG’s daughter

Initially believed to have drowned, Iris Victoria Moussa Memoussa, daughter of the Director General of Camwater, was murdered before she was thrown in the swimming pool to disguise her death.

The one and half year old passed away on Friday, with sources initially reporting that she had drowned in the family’s swimming pool. However, upon her parents return from an overseas trip, they demanded a thorough investigation to uncover the truth, as the nannies and house workers were not giving clear information. The Prosecutor of the Republic at the Mfoundi High Court ordered an autopsy, which revealed troubling findings that contradicted the initial drowning claims.

The autopsy report indicate that there is no trace of water in the child’s lungs, therefore dismissing the drowning theory. Instead, it revealed a skull fracture at the back of her head that could only be caused by a violent impact on her forehead. These injuries suggest she received a violent blow that led to her untimely and tragic death.

According to sources, the primary suspects in this shocking incident are the four domestic workers employed in the family’s residence in Bastos, Yaoundé. Two baby-sitters, a housekeeper, and a cook are currently under investigation by the Regional Division of the Judicial Police in the Center Region.

It is alleged that there are evidence against the housekeeper, identified as Sandra. Reports reveal that there are conversations and messages that reveal she struck the child on the forehead with her Tecno mobile phone, causing a two-centimeter fracture in the fontanelle. Realizing that child fell to the ground and became unresponsive, Sandra allegedly attempted to cover up the crime by putting the little girl in the swimming pool to claim she drowned. Another domestic worker is also suspected of assisting in the cover-up and maintaining silence about the true events of that fateful day.

Authorities are working to piece together the full story, and if the allegations hold true, those responsible will be held accountable for this heinous act.
