A tragic workplace accident in Bonaberi has left a family in grief. Bashram, a 21-year-old worker at an agro-food industry Weba Foods in Bonaberi, was fatally crushed by a truck belonging to the same company on Wednesday night. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have left his family demanding answers and justice.
According to reports from Vision 4, Bashram’s family was alarmed upon arriving at the scene of the accident, only to find that his body had already been removed and transported to another location within the company premises. His mother expressed outrage, accusing the company of trying to hide evidence. The company allegedly sought permission to move the body to the mortuary, but the family refused, insisting that legal authorities and the media be present before any further action.
In an attempt to further clarify the incident, the family was later shown CCTV footage of the accident. The footage reportedly revealed that Bashram, who had just finished cleaning the truck, was not wearing any company attire or protective equipment at the time of the accident. This has raised suspicions about whether he was officially on duty and if the company had neglected safety protocols.
“Why would an employee be working without protective gear? This is not normal,” his brother questioned, suggesting that the company may be attempting to hide certain details about the incident.
The family’s attempts to get explanations from the company’s management proved fruitless, as they allegedly refused to engage even after the police and fire brigade arrived.
Bashram’s body has since been transported to the mortuary, but will the family insists on a full investigation to truly ascertain whether there is something fishy? The public will be watching closely to see whether justice is served and if the company would be held responsible.
